About Belmont County Safety Council

Over $337,270 in Workers' Compensation Premiums was returned to Belmont County employers in 2008 as a result of their participation in Safety Council.

By becoming an active Safety Council member you can earn rebates on Workers' Comp!

To be an active Safety Council member and eligible to earn a 2% discount for July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010, you must

  • Join the Safety Council by July 31
  • attend at least 10 of the 12 monthly Safety Council meetings
  • Up to 2 attendance credits can be earned by attending external training sessions. Please read these guidelines regarding the requirements for External Training. External Training Guidelines for Fiscal Year 2010
  • send a senior-level manager to one of the Safety Council-sponsored meetings
  • submit two semi-annual workplace accident reports
  • Also, if you reduce either the severity or frequency of injuries by 10% (or keep both at 0) you could earn an additional 2% rebate.
