SUMMARY:Belmont County Safety Council Luncheon FY 2017
DESCRIPTION:The Tenth meeting of the FY17 Safety Council Program year will be held on Thursday\, April 6 from 12:00 Noon to 1 P.M. at the St. Clairsville Recreation Center. The cost of the lunch is $15.00 with advanced reservations or $17.00 at the door for walk-ins.\n\n\n\nWe ask that you make a reservation to ensure that we have adequate seating and food for all of our attendees and speakers.\n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\nAric Bizzarri                                                                          \n\nMr. Bizzarri has been employed by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation in the Special Investigations Department since 2004 as a Special Agent with the Health Care Provider Team investigating allegations of fraud committed by health care providers.  Aric is most recently a part of the multi agency taskforce headed by the Governor's office investigating "Pill Mills".  Additionally\, Aric was part of the team that successfully investigated and prosecuted Thomas Noe in the 2005 Coingate Scandal. \n\n \n\nSpecial Agent Bizzarri is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the national chapter of Certified Fraud Examiners and former board member of the Central Ohio Chapter.   Prior to employment with BWC\, Aric worked in the Fraud and Investigative Audit Group at the State Auditor's office.\n\n \n\nMr. Bizzarri holds a Master's degree from Ohio University and an undergraduate degree from Muskingum University.\n\n\n\nMike Mathers\n\nMr. Mathers has been employed by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation in the Special Investigations Unit since 1997 as a Special Agent with the Injured Worker Team investigating allegations of fraud and abuse committed by injured workers. During this time\, Mr. Mathers investigated over 850 cases and referred 89 cases for prosecution which has saved the BWC nearly $15.5 million dollars. Mr. Mathers has been assigned many high profile cases involving multi-state fraud rings\, identity theft cases and drug deception cases and has assisted on internal cases. Mr. Mathers also participated in the investigation of Tom Noe in the 2005 Coingate Scandal. \n\n \n\nPrior to his work as a Special Agent\, Mr. Mathers was employed by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation as a Claims Service Specialist for four years. \n\n \n\nSpecial Agent Mathers has been a member of the International Association of Special Investigation Units for over ten years.
