SUMMARY:Chamber of Commerce Breakfast
DESCRIPTION:The St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Breakfast on Wednesday\, March 19\, 2014 at Park Health Center in their Dining Room from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.  Due to the generosity of Park Health Center\, there will be no cost for the meeting.  In lieu of a set meeting fee\, we are asking that you make a donation to the St. Clairsville Band Parents Association to assist in their effort to purchase new band uniforms.  We can accept your donation at the breakfast or we can invoice you after the breakfast if you wish.  Reservations are preferred to ensure we have adequate seating and food for all of our attendees.\n\n\n\nThe speakers for this meeting will be Pamela McCort and Adam "Nick" Nicholoff from the BHN Alliance.  Pamela McCort is the communications coordinator for the BHN Alliance which is a partnership between the Belmont\, Harrison and Noble County Boards of Developmental Disabilities.  She is responsible for all communications\, which includes delivering information that helps others think differently about people of all abilities.  Nick Nicholoff is the Transition Specialist for the BHN Alliance\, where he oversees the Bridges to Transition program\, which helps students with disabilities go from school to work.  He also coordinates BHN's Employment First initiative that is helping people find meaningful work.\n\n\n\nThe Employment First Initiative offers workers with disabilities competitive employment in an integrated setting and is a national movement that continues to gain momentum in this area. Ohio is one of 26 states with an official Employment First policy or legislation.  Their presentation will impart information on the benefits of hiring workers with disabilities and the abilities they bring to their employer\, the value & benefits of hiring workers with all disabilities and to generate awareness that people with disabilities are capable and can work in the community and stimulate thoughtful change in attitudes and encourage acceptance of the individuality of all people\n\n\n\nPark Health Center will be providing a buffet breakfast for this meeting.\n\n\n\nTo make reservations\, register online via the link in this email\, visit our website stcchamber.com or call the chamber office at 740-695-9623.
