DESCRIPTION:MAY 5\, 2015 SECOND ANNUAL AMAZING RAISE OHIO VALLEY\n\n \n\nWheeling\, WV May 5\, 2015 will be the second annual Amazing Raise Ohio Valley\, a 24-hour online giving event benefiting dozens of nonprofit organizations in the Ohio Valley. Hosted by the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley\, the Amazing Raise Ohio Valley is a part of the national Give Local America with 120 community foundations across the country participating.\n\n \n\nBeginning at midnight on May 5th\, donors may give to their favorite organization by going to www.GiveOV.org. Giving online is simple by searching for their organization on the site and using a major credit card. The minimum amount to give is $10. The event concludes at 11:59 pm.\n\n \n\nIn its first year in 2014\, the Amazing Raise Ohio Valley raised more than $357\,000 for 92 participating Ohio Valley organizations. The three organizations raising the most money locally last year were Augusta Levy Learning Center - $51\,148\; St. Clairsville Library Foundation - $48\,893\; Smith-Goshen Rice Enrichment Fund - $40\,547\, When combined with the other community foundations participating in Give Local America last year\, the day was the single largest one-day giving event in national history raising $53 million.\n\n \n\nThis year there are 98 Ohio Valley organizations participating in the Amazing Raise Ohio Valley.\n\n \n\nLocal businesses and foundations have provided sponsorships and grants toward a bonus pool of funds that will enhance all gifts on May 5th. The bonus pool dollars will be distributed proportionately among participating organizations based on money raised.\n\n \n\nIn addition to the bonus pool of funds\, there are also special cash prizes awarded throughout the day.
